Budapest Summer Events for August

Budapest has a booming tourism industry, with close to double digit growth every year. The most popular time to visit the city is during the summer, when the heat radiates from the pavement and the parties are the craziest. During the summer months the city is packed with concerts and awesome programs, here’s Pub Crawl Budapest selection for August! Cue Summer in the City!

Sziget Festival

We have got to start with the craziest, largest events of all - the Budapest Sziget Festival. This immense music festival is located on an island, set on the Danube - hell, sziget means island in Hungarian. This is the week when pub crawls are the craziest every year, people love exploring drinking options when there’s a big festival in the city!

National Holiday

August 20th is the 4th of July of Hungary. Think national holiday, fireworks, all that jazz. This holiday is probably the biggest, and commemorating the foundation of the Hungarian state, in true Hungarian fashion, cannot be done without drinking your fair share of alcohol! Pub crawls on this day are particularly awesome!

Festival of Folk Arts

Tired of drinking? Maybe want to taste a little local culture? Check out the Festival of Folk Arts, held between August 18 and 21, in the impressive Buda Castle! Come here learn about traditional Hungarian craftsmanship, folk attires and history. Might sound boring at first, but believe us, when there’s a festival, there are numerous wine and pálinka stands waiting for you!

As for the rest of the month, remember, Pub Crawl Budapest has got you covered with an awesome pubcrawl - every night, every day of the year! What are you waiting for?
